Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services
Chestnut Ridge Counseling Services, Inc. Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program is based on the principles of recovery. The purpose of emphasizing the recovery process is to facilitate each individual’s sense of ownership in their own personal recovery journey.
The Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program at CRCSI serves consenting adults, 18 years of age and older, who have a serious mental illness regardless of gender, race, sex, religion, ethnic origin, economic status, sexual orientation / gender identity / expression, or disability. Services are authorized through Value Behavioral Health insurance.
At CRCSI, Psychiatric Rehabilitation services are delivered primarily using the “Role Recovery Approach” that incorporates the Boston University (BU) methodology of Psychiatric Rehabilitation. Dependent on the results of a Readiness, Strength and Functional Assessments, the process will begin with each individual in one of four phases:
- Engagement – establishing a positive, collaborative relationship between the individual and the PR staff and working towards the direct involvement in the planning of rehabilitation / recovery activities and services.
- Readiness Development – increasing hope, confidence and / or motivation to begin the process of choosing a valued role by developing awareness and knowledge related to the dimensions of recovery which are need, commitment to change, self and environmental awareness and personal closeness.
- Choosing a Valued Role – systematically selecting a valued LLWS role by evaluating researched alternatives according to carefully developed personal criteria.
- Achieving / Keeping a Valued Role – developing the critical skills and supports to increase success and satisfaction in getting and keeping a valued LLWS environmental role.

Chestnut Ridge Counseling Services, Inc.’s Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program pledges to respectfully treat individuals as people, not by their diagnosis, working together to instill in the individual increased self confidence in their unique abilities, skills and accomplishments by helping them to recognize their strengths to empower the individual to function without our assistance in their own individualized recovery journey.
CRCSI’s Psychiatric Rehabilitation services are located at the Conrad Recovery Center at 250 East Fayette Street in Uniontown, PA 15401. Referral can be made by the individual or any member of their treatment team.
